Toronto Maple Leafs (+135) vs. Washington Capitals (-155); Total 5.5
The recent struggles of the Washington Capitals have been well documented but we might be seeing some signs of them turning things around. In their last game we saw the Capitals score 4 goals in the third period to skate away with a 5-3 win over the Ottawa Senators. More importantly for the Capitals we saw Ovechkin get off the snide and finally find the back of the net. Ovechkin was not suspended for the
spear Chris Neil dive. As for the Leafs they are coming off a 3-2 loss to the Devils and have now dropped 3 of their last 4 games. Reimer will be in goal tonight for the Leafs (& Voukon for the Caps). Reimer is just 0-1-1 since returning from his concussion injury and has not been okay but not great. These teams met a few weeks ago in Toronto and the Leafs buried the Capitals 7-1. Will the Capitals get their revenge tonight?

I liked what I saw from Ovechkin and the Capitals in their last game. Sure Ovechkin has been struggling but nobody can say he doesn’t care. The effort is still there from Ovechkin and that goal should lead to more goals in the near future from the great 8. The Caps scored 4 goals in the 3rd period in their last game and I expect them to carry that momentum over into tonight’s game. Don’t think for a second the Capitals don’t remember getting embarrassed 7-1 in Toronto. The Capitals will be out for revenge and they will get it tonight. Currently the Capitals are a 1.65 favorite at 5 Dimes Sportsbook. Instead of laying the juice with the Capitals I’ll take the Caps to win in regulation time (1st 60 minutes) for 2.02 at 5 Dimes Sportsbook.
